Council on the Independent Movement for Self Determination
THE CORPORATE, MID, AND OUTER RIM COUNCIL ON TRADE AND GOVERNANCE

This body consists of worlds and organizations dedicated to the free ideals of capitalism and free trade, and opposed to the policies of many in the Galactic Republic which seek to push further regulation and government control of worlds and industry. These ideals manifest themselves through intervention in Senate Policy making through the use of influential Council affiliated senators and through donations to parties and candidates. Usually intervention is of a purely political or financial nature but when extreme measures are required then they are often implemented (as they are now during the Naboo Intervention). It also manifests itself through the exploitation and attempted expansion of free trade zones and zones of control outside of republic jurisdiction and/or knowledge.


THE GALACTIC REPUBLIC:
The Galactic Republic is a conglomeration of many thousands of worlds. For centuries, the Republic expanded not through force, but by quietly exerting a strong magnetic pull towards neighboring systems. The promise of trade with Core World markets held many systems in sway, inexorably luring non-member worlds into tighter cooperation with the state body. The Galactic Republic has always been a voluntary organization centered around a common trade language, currency, and constitution. Member worlds have the right to send representatives to the Galactic Senate (the legislative body of the Galactic Republic) to represent their interests and to vote during the election of the Supreme Chancellor (head of the executive branch of the Galactic Republic). The Galactic republic members are sovereign states the Galactic Republic is not a republic as one would normally think of one it is more of a confederation set up like the EU or Switzerland.
The senators meet on the capital world of Coruscant where they craft the legislation for the GR. It is here that the ever expanding central bureaucracy of the GR has grown and the corruption along with it. Many see the senate as an inept body of elitist senators ready to sell the citizens of the republic out to enrich themselves. They also see it as the source for the expanding byzantine bureaucracy which has become ever more pervasive in the average individual's life.
There are many worlds who have lost perspective on what it was that brought them into the Republic and have lost site of the benefits of being a part of it, if there were every any benefits at all. There are many in the Republic that believe this erosion in the fundamental institutions of the GR and growing corruption will lead to a crisis of galactic proportions.

ECONOMY:
The Galactic Republic was originally set up to facilitate trade but has grown largely from that point and taken many more responsibilities and powers as a federal system. Today member worlds survive through 4 basic economic specializations: production of refined goods, production of raw materials, trade, or financial services. Each of the corporate or planetary entities part of the council have various levels of specialization or generalization. A member world may be agrarian in nature and would thus sacrifice industrial capacity. A corporation may focus its funds on research and development and would thus not have the financial capital necessary to fund large scale production (once large enough a company or world may however have multiple specializations). In this way the various member worlds and entities of the republic rely on one another and the trade between them. The finances of member worlds are based around the galactic credit which is the standardized currency through the Republic.

CORPORATE AND REPUBLIC MILITARIES:

The galactic republic has no official military and has not had one for one thousand years, since the Ruusan Reformation. Each individual world is expected to see to their own defense, there are several treaties between segments of the republic for collective defense and stipulations on collective defense in the Galactic Constitution of the Galactic Republic but there is no federal military. In the event of War each member world is expected to provide forces (such as starships and troops) based on varying markers, such as wealth and ability for production, of a world for collective defense. But as of now there is no overarching military command structure for the republic that could bring together the armies of its member worlds. The Galactic republic also has the power of the largest fleet production facilities in the known galaxy at Kuat Drive Yards and other areas.
There is a remnant of a military in the Republic known as the Judicial force which is a part of the judiciary branch of the republic. Its was created out of the remnant of the republic navy after the new sith wars and acts as a minor peacekeeping and anti-piracy force but it is very small and ineffective.
The galactic republic can gather the largest military in the galaxy but the issue is that length of time it takes to gather the various militaries together and the bureaucracy through which the military is commanded. There is also the issue of a lack of homogeneity in the army with different cultures, military doctrines, abilities, and desires all needing to be balanced by any who wish to command the gathered armies.


There are several corporate entities in the republic that have created militaries out of necessity at first but which have now expanded beyond that. The Trade Federation, for instance, oversees and controls the trade routes of the republic and so requires forces to patrol these routes and ensure that there is no pirate activity or interference on the routs. Because of the difficulty of policing a multi-world intergalactic corporations and due to their control over many senators, these forces have also been able to act as the unofficial police forces over many colony worlds started by the corporations and the unofficial police of many other areas as well, such as on the trade routes. The Trade Federation polices itself and other areas using a large droid army using contracts with Baktoid Armor Workshop, Haor Chall Engineering, and the Colicoid Creation Nest. This army is officially known as the Trade Defense force.
The ships of the federation armada are most often refitted trade craft, such as C-0079 landing craft which is just an outfitted ore barge. The Lucrehulk-class Battleship is also a modified cargo hauler. Some ships however were specialized combat vessels such as the Munifex-class light cruiser which was contracted from the Kuat Drive Yards for use for the Trade Defense Force. The officers of this force are trained on Balmorra, a world owned by the Techno Union and source of the original B1 Battle droids.
Most of the large multi world corporations have a force such as the one described above to enforce contracts, expand influence, and defend from aggressors such as pirates. There are, however; many other means to influence used by the corporations. The commerce guild only resorts to violence if there is no other option, unlike some other players, as they usually prefer bribery or economic means to get their way. The Commerce Guild and a few other corporations has the financial capital to buy entire planets so often times economic warfare is simpler than actual warfare. One such planet was Castelll, the homeworld of the Gossamm. The Commerce Guild enslaved the entire population of Castell after its purchase without having to fire a shot.



THE NABOO CRISIS:
For many decades now the Galactic republic has run a deficit of several Trillion galactic credits annually. It has been the task of senators of the finance committee to discover a way to both increase revenue and balance the budget of the GR (Galactic Republic). In order to achieve these goals they set their sights on the free trade zones of the outer rim (and outer mid rim) which, were set up to encourage corporate expansion and settlement of these areas. In these areas there is no taxation but there is also little to no enforcement of republic regulations, when a corporation colonized a world its only duty to the republic was use of the galactic currency and trade language. These areas, along with the republic’s trade routes which it controls, are where the trade federation (the largest commercial corporation in the galaxy) and many other entities make the majority of their money.
Expansion of the regulations of the GA to cover these systems and free trade zones is an idea championed by Naboo, the coreward most world in one of these trade zones. Considering that the federation would lose billions of credits if such measures to expand regulation and taxation passed, and considering the vast plasma mining enterprises that the federation has on the planet’s surface the Trade Federation has blockaded Naboo in a show of defiance to the senate and has attempted to force the young Queen of Naboo (Padme Amidala) to sign a declaration in support of free trade and free trade zones thus killing the movement of the expanded regulations and taxation in the Galactic Senate.
The Trade Federation has attempted to organize unyielding devotion to the principles of free trade and capitalism. This push has gone through varying degrees of success over the past years, now being one of the waning moments of capitalist ideals among the senators (due largely due to a budgetary crisis). This shift is a significant group of Republic senators towards ideas of more direct government control has led to this move to blockade Naboo as a response to severe government overreach and expected future overreach.

SENATORS:
These moves to regulate and tax new trade zones are not the only thing causing grumbling from the masses. There has been a long standing appearance of elitism and preference in trade and status for core worlds. Many in the outer rim and even mid rim feel that the well being and stability of core worlds is put in a far more important position than the wellbeing of their worlds. Core world senators have a louder voice and are taken more seriously by the galactic government. This, along with the blatant corruption and other factors, has caused several senators and planetary leaders to join the council in an attempt to affect change in the republic.

JEDI:
The Jedi are a mystic order of monks who worship the ambiguous power known to them as “the force”. They can use this power to manipulate the world and individuals around them in many cases, and use it to feed their already strong marshal talents. While the Jedi are supported by a large group of people in the galaxy the claim to protect and bring peace to there are many who know that the words of peace from the Jedi are far from what is reality.

The Jedi always seem to be involved in massive conflicts that cause the death of countless millions and have on several occasions brought the Republic into their holy wars against the sith, unnecessarily leading to the complete destruction of republic worlds on several occasions. They say that the sith are evil and need to be destroyed, even at the cost of millions of innocent lives, but there are few in the republic who understand the Jedi and fewer still who could distinguish between a Jedi and a Sith. To many people these wars between religious sects are just the Jedi trying to remove competition. This lack of understanding and fear of the Jedi is perpetuated by the Jedi’s lack of connection to local populations. There are many stories of the Jedi kidnapping babies who show an a connection with this mystical power, stories that are used to scare children in the outer rim. This dislike of the Jedi has increased with the corruption of the Republic since the republic does not have any centralized military force the Jedi are often called to keep the “peace” leading to them being seen as the protectors of a corrupt class of citizen based on the capital world.

This negative sentiment has heated up due to the Kaleesh involvement. The Kaleesh lead a slave rebellion against their masters the Huk, the Kaleesh successfully pushed the Huk off world and caused them to retreat to their own home world. The Kaleesh had plans for vengeance and were preparing to cleanse the Huk home world of all life. The Jedi stepped in however and destroyed the Kaleesh army before it could enact its plans and crippling sanctions were placed on the Kaleesh home world. The Jedi believed they had just saved the Huk species but to the rest of the galaxy it seemed as though the Jedi had brutally put down a slave revolt at the bidding of the governing elite.

Events like this lead to the creation of the People's Inquest, a group of concerned citizens that protested the Jedi and their increased involvement in galactic affairs. This watchdog monitors the Jedi to ensure they follow the rules and regulations of the republic.


POSITIONS:

Nute Gunray (Trade Federation)
Once a lowly minister in the Trade Federation, Nute Gunray now serves as one of the most powerful members of the Galactic Republic as Viceroy of the Trade Federation (a monopolistic trade empire). As Viceroy of the Trade Federation, he commands the sizable Trade Defense Force and oversees the maintenance, patrol, and stability of the various trade routes throughout the Republic. A staunch supporter of free trade and deregulated markets, Nute Gunray has decided to blockade Naboo in an attempt to force the Republic to favor free trade over trade taxation. Nute Gunray is a Neimoidian male.

Design Specifications Owned by the Trade Federation:

Lucrehulk-class LH-3210 cargo freighter

One of the largest ships currently in production this cargo freighter is used to transport many millions of tons of supplies between planets per trip. It is often used to transport grain from agrarian worlds in the core to city worlds like the capital Coruscant, and many other important tasks. These ships are vital cargo haulers but have also become vital in the defense of the commerce guild. A few of these haulers have been outfitted to become the largest carrier in the outer rim. They have been modified to house vulture droids and can hold as many as 250, they have also been modified to carry battle droids and support vehicles and drop ships. The freighter can hold up to 300,000 droids with additional space for tanks, large landing craft, and other support if purchased. It has also been outfitted with 28 quad laser cannons to be used for the defense of the craft. When modified the freighter is called the Lucrehulk-class heavy carrier.

C-9979 landing craft Haor Chall Engineering

C-9979 landing craft are based on the designs of Trade Federation Commercial barges and so has little armament. Weapons are relegated to wing tips and include only minor anti-aircraft turret mounted laser cannons. The primary duty of these ships is to transport vehicles and troops from interplanetary transports to the surface of a planet, or to get troops off the surface to such transports. This ship does not have a hyper drive and so cannot go between planets by its self.
Each transport can hold the equivalent of:
10,000 B1 battle droids
33 AATs
11 MTTs

Sheathipede-class transport shuttle

These transport shuttles were intended for the movement of small amounts of personnel from place to place and between planets, yes this ship does have a hyper drive. Generally used by high ranking members of the trade federation the ship can carry approximately 12 droids and 4 sentient personnel. It is armed with laser cannons but only very minor defensive shielding.

Droch- class boarding ship Colicoid Creation Nest

These ships are built and intended to bore into the hull of another ship and release its droid crew into that ship in order to conduct boarding actions. These ships can hold 10 droids and are intended for ship to ship action only not for normal transport of droids, no hyper drive.

Droid Tri-fighter Colicoid Creation Nest

These fighters have a high degree of agility and a powerful reactor that gives them great range for fighters. While not having any shielding the ship does contain one heavy laser cannon and a compliment of missiles which can be modified to fire buzz droids. The droid tri-fighter is a challenge to overcome even for many of the best pilots around.

B1 battle droid

These droids are perhaps the most numerable and expendable in the galaxy and, unlike many organics, are capable of action in hostile environments such as in poisoned climates or in space. They were designed, for the most part, to defeat their enemies through sheer numbers, not through their ability to think and utilize advanced combat tactics. Because of this these droids are often only effective when in large numbers. Every battle involving these droids requires a central computer with which to run them, these can be housed anywhere such as in a MTT or in a starship. These droids are equipped with the E-5 blaster rifle.

Wat Tambor (Techno Union)

Beginning his career as an engineer on the harsh planet of Metalorn, Wat Tambor now serves as Foreman and leader of the Techno Union. The Techno Union is a coalition of high technology firms with a focus on heavy manufacturing, such as droids and vehicles. As Foreman of the Techno Union, Wat Tambor oversees massive droid foundries across the Republic, including the widely used B1 Battle Droid. Wat Tambor is a vocal opponent of trade regulation, as heavy fines imposed on trade directly affects the revenue streams of the Techno Union firms. Wat Tambor is a Skakoan male. The Techno Union has as its composite companies the design companies of Haor Chall Engineering, Colicoid Creation Nest, and Baktoid Armor Workshop which have designed most of the ships and droids in use by the corporations of the republic. As far as the members of this council go the Techno Union is the most weapons production focused having very little to no other economic sectors of focus.




Design Specifications Owned by the Techno Union:


Providence-class destroyer

Providence-class ship designs were created in conjunction with the Free Dac Volunteer Corps. and were massive, cylindrical 1,088-meter-long warships with a pointed nose that tapered towards the superstructure, bays exist on the ship for the carrying of compliments of droid strike fighters and landing craft. These ships are based on Quarren designs from the planet Dac and are one of the largest combat ships produced by the council. These destroyers act as point ships for planetary blockades, bombardments, and invasions and can also be effective in capital ship to capital ship space combat.

B1 battle droid

B2 battle droid

The B2 battle droid enhanced the B1 design by increasing armor and weapon capacity, the B2 have wrist rockets, and also by giving them individual droid brains. This means that B2 battle droids do not need a central droid control computer in order to operate, though they work best while one is functioning. The B2s have a sturdy duranium frame allowing to take more punishment than the B1s before deactivating and could also utilize more advanced combat tactics. Overall the B2s were far more effective than the B1s.

STAP (Single Trooper Aerial Platform)

The STAP is intended to be used for scouting and anti-personnel hunting operations. Armed with repeating dual blaster cannons the STAP is most often piloted by a single B1 battle droid. STAPS open design makes them vulnerable causing them to rely on their speed and agility.

MTT (Multi Troop Transport) Baktoid Armor Workshop

The multi troop transport is intended to be an armored personnel carrier and an infantry support vehicle. Capable of carrying 112 B1 battle droids into combat the MTT is also heavily armored with durasteel plates and it is armed with 4 17 Kv anti-personnel lasers (anti-personnel weapons). The large mass of this craft has also allowed it to topple buildings in the past and take down walls in support of infantry advancement. During the deployment phase the MTTs are vulnerable.

AAT (Armored Assault Tank) Baktoid Armor Workshop

The AAT is a medium sized repulsor tank and is the backbone of council heavy weapons platforms, it carries 1 heavy laser cannon turret mounted, 2 lateral range finding lasers, 2 lateral anti-personnel lasers, and 6 energy shell projectile launchers. It is the Premier tank of corporate forces. Battle tested against pirates in the outer rim the Tank has been found to be highly effective.

San Hill (InterGalactic Banking Clan)
After being mentored by his murdered father’s ex employer at Damask Holdings, San Hill acceded to the Chairmanship of the InterGalactic Banking Clan. The InterGalactic Banking Clan serves as a conglomerate of the Muunilist’s ruling Council of Banking Clans and other banking authorities throughout the Republic. Controllers of most of the financing in the galaxy, the IGBC and San Hill are particularly worried about the Republic’s move towards taxing trade as many of their investments lie along the main trade routes in the mid and outer rim. San Hill is a Munn male. The Galactic Republic does now and has in the past owed debts to the IGBC, another worry of the clan is audits from the GR or worse a default on their debt.

Design Specifications Owned by the Banking Clan:

BX Droid Commando

The BX Droid Commando appears similar to the B1 battle droid but it is in fact very different. An independent and powerful droid brain means that these droids are the most functional independent and improvising battle droids on the market. Infiltration software, voice modulation, and humanoid shape make them capable low level infiltrators. These droids were built to be significantly faster and stronger than a regular battle droid, they also possess heavier armor. These units are often used as droid special forces of sorts.

HMP Droid Gunship

The Heavy Missile Platform gunship is designed for in atmosphere strikes on ground targets, its slower than smaller Starfighters but makes up for that with an extensive compliment of missiles, laser weapons, and shielding. The ship contains two twin turreted medium laser cannons, one medium laser cannon, two light laser cannons, two missile launchers containing 7 missiles each, two concussion bombs, and if necessary EMP missiles and torpedoes. It can also be deployed with a droid rack so that it could drop up to 50 droids directly into combat. These droids have their own built in brain so do not need a droid control computer nearby but would function better if one were around.

Munificent-class star frigate

The Munificent-class frigate is the backbone of many corporate navies, these ships are refitted banking clan star frigates given oversized guns and armament. It also has the ability to carry up to 150,000 battle droids. The ship is powered by twin reactors and contains 2 heavy turbo laser cannons and 2 long range heavy ion cannons, as well as 26 twin turbolaser cannons, 20 light turbolaser turrets (for anti-fighter purposes) , 38 point defense cannons, 8 flack guns, and one hyperwave jammer. The ship is also protected by heavy shields and armor plating, though not as powerful as some other craft as it is a refitted they do carry an extensive set of high performance sensors which often give them an edge.

Hyena-class Bomber (modified vulture droid) Baktoid Armor Workshop

Similar in design to a vulture droid the Hyena actually has a broader fuselage and two heads. The bomber is capable of carrying six proton bombs and six proton torpedoes as well as six concussion missiles in the bomb bay beneath the hull. The hyena bomber also carries two light laser cannons which reduces the need for a fighter escort. Due to the slower speed and bulkier nature, however; a fighter escort is often advised if space fighter combat is expected. These bombers are often used to attack capital ships and ground targets in atmosphere if necessary. As Hyena-class ships have no hyper drive they can move around in system but need a carrier ship to take them between planets.

The Starfighter carrier four blaster cannons and two energy torpedo launchers and can transform into a walking weapons platform. A droid Starfighter was capable of maneuvers that would kill an organic pilot, but they lacked the resourcefulness and cunning of living pilots, although they were capable of responding much faster. A skilled piolet would easily be a match for the vulture droid but, like the B1 battle droid, the purpose of the Vulture droids is to overwhelm the enemy with greater numbers not usually by using better tactics. Vulture droids are very effective in both atmospheric and space combat and can travel in system but cannot travel between planets as they have no hyper drive, they need a carrier ship. Vulture droids have extensive testing fighting pirates in the outer rim and have proven to be very effective weapons. The Vulture droids, while having a droid brain, are very simplistic if they are to have combat effectiveness they need the assistance of a local droid control computer.

IG-227 Hailfire-class droid tank Haor Chall Engineering

The Hailfire-class droid tank is a self-aware mobile missile platform capable of engaging aerial and ground targets. Capable of destroying most enemy vehicles the Hailfire droid has a strong offense but virtually no defensive capabilities which is why it usually uses its speed and maneuverability to stay out of direct combat. Its main function is in a combat support role with an artillery and anti-aircraft function. The droid carries two clusters of 15 guided rockets and a retractable double blaster used against infantry or other soft targets.

Shu Mai (Commerce Guild)
Shu Mai rose through the ranks of the Commerce Guild through business acumen and unscrupulous tactics, and eventually bought her own planet just to raise rents and demand tribute from her own people. She now serves as President of the Commerce Guild, a collection of massive trade and production companies, including SoroSuub Corporation. Known infamously for pressuring through bribery and extortion of smaller corporations, the Commerce Guild oversees assets across the Mid and Outer Rim. Shu Mai is highly critical of the trade regulations, which are dipping into many of the operations owned by the Commerce Guild.

Recusant-class light destroyer

Purchased from the Free Dac Volunteer Corps the Recusant-class light destroyer is unlike many of the naval products of the Corporations and guilds the Recusant-class light destroyer is not an outfitted commerce ship but a spacecraft built first for war. little is required in the way of crew due to most of the ship being able to be run by droid brain technology. The destroyer like the frigates are armed with oversized guns, they carry a heavy turbolaser cannon on their prow, 4 heavy turbolaser cannons, 6 heavy turbolaser turrets, 5 turbolaser cannons, 30 dual laser cannons, 12 dual light laser cannons, and 60 point defense cannons as well as military grade shielding. It can only carry up to 40,000 droids but can carry up to 240 droid Starfighters and at least one C-9979 landing craft in its cargo bay.

Aurore-class freighter

This freighter is an older design and one that has seen extensive use through the galaxy. Capable of carrying up to 100 organic individuals or several tons of cargo between worlds the Aurore-class freighter is the workhorse of the galaxy moving billions of tons of goods between various planets in the republic annually. This ship is the most popular among small to medium cargo haulers in the republic and its classic design has served many merchants very well.

Droideka

A type of heavy battle droid the Droideka is super effective. Equipped with a shield generator and two built in twin blaster cannons there is little in the way of infantry, droid or otherwise, that can stand up to the durability and firepower of the Droideka. While these designs are very fast in their ball form (over 70 Km/hour) they are very vulnerable as they can not deploy their shields in this mode. While in the upright configuration they are very durable but also very slow, this dichotomy is their only known weakness.

Class Type B cargo ship

Lightly armed military transport with minimal shielding and point defense cannons this ship is used mainly to move personnel between fleets and between on and off world assignments. Capable of carrying up to 20 individuals this craft is sturdy and is the main daily personnel transport for most corporate entities.

Passel Argente (Office of Alliance Magistrate for the Corporate Alliance)

Passel Argente began his career as the owner of Lethe Merchandising, an affiliate of the Corporate Alliance, and eventually became Magistrate of the Corporate Alliance and Senator for Kooriva. The Corporate Alliance was originally a grouping of businesses that came together in order to support the insertion of a corporate NGO in the galactic senate that could propose legislation but that had no power to vote. Over the decades the independent businesses of the Corporate alliance came together through buyouts and mergers to form a single entity. The alliance, due to its creation, has a hand in almost every market in the republic from agricultural lands owned on Ertegas, to moisture farms on tatooine, to financial services Coruscant and Droid production in factories on Geonosis. Because of this extensive financial diversity the Corporate Alliance is one of the most stable Corporations in the galaxy able to get a hold of almost anything. Unfortunately also because of this diversity the Alliance has less, though still considerable, clout in the individual industries. It does not have near the monopolistic pull that organizations like the Banking Clan have over their sectors of the economy.

NR – N99 Persuader-class droid enforcer

The NR-N99 Persuader droid enforcer is an automated, droid brain controlled, tank that the Corporate Alliance uses to enforce deals and see to peace on many worlds. It moves on a single large main tread with two smaller out to the sides to allow for more stability. The tank is not an especially maneuverable vehicle but has very heavy firepower. The Persuader droid can reach up to 60 Kph and can easily smash through the walls of most civilian housing. The persuader droid is vital to corporate alliance interests on many worlds. Its armament includes ion cannons, heavy repeating blasters, shock rifles, concussion missile saunchers, 12 concussion missiles, 4 homing missiles, and 4 dumbfire torpedoes.

Aurore-class freighter

This freighter is an older design and one that has seen extensive use through the galaxy. Capable of carrying up to 100 organic individuals or several tons of cargo between worlds the Aurore-class freighter is the workhorse of the galaxy moving billions of tons of goods between various planets in the republic annually. This ship is the most popular among small to medium cargo haulers in the republic and its classic design has served many merchants very well.

DSD1 (dwarf spider droid) Baktoid Armor Workshop

The dwarf spider droid is a droid created by the corporate alliance for any future conflicts or enforcement needs. Its main cannon is a long central blaster cannon mounted on its dome, this cannon gives it exceptional firepower for its size. It can fire anti-personnel rounds or fire high intensity blasts that could take out light vehicles. The legs were designed to allow the spider droid to walk strait up walls allowing it to scale up the sides of even the most sheer cliff faces. Their droid brain allows them to act without a central droid control computer.


Vulture droid

The Starfighter carrier four blaster cannons and two energy torpedo launchers and can transform into a walking weapons platform. A droid Starfighter was capable of maneuvers that would kill an organic pilot, but they lacked the resourcefulness and cunning of living pilots, although they were capable of responding much faster. A skilled piolet would easily be a match for the vulture droid but, like the B1 battle droid, the purpose of the Vulture droids is to overwhelm the enemy with greater numbers not usually by using better tactics. Vulture droids are very effective in both atmospheric and space combat and can travel in system but cannot travel between planets as they have no hyper drive, they need a carrier ship. Vulture droids have extensive testing fighting pirates in the outer rim and have proven to be very effective weapons. The Vulture droids, while having a droid brain, are very simplistic if they are to have combat effectiveness they need the assistance of a local droid control computer.

HMP Droid Gunship

The Heavy Missile Platform gunship is designed for in atmosphere strikes on ground targets, its slower than smaller Starfighters but makes up for that with an extensive compliment of missiles, laser weapons, and shielding. The ship contains two twin turreted medium laser cannons, one medium laser cannon, two light laser cannons, two missile launchers containing 7 missiles each, two concussion bombs, and if necessary EMP missiles and torpedoes. It can also be deployed with a droid rack so that it could drop up to 50 droids directly into combat. These droids have their own built in brain so do not need a droid control computer nearby but would function better if one were around.

Munificent-class star frigate

The Munificent-class frigate is the backbone of many corporate navies, these ships are refitted banking clan star frigates given oversized guns and armament. It also has the ability to carry up to 150,000 battle droids. The ship is powered by twin reactors and contains 2 heavy turbo laser cannons and 2 long range heavy ion cannons, as well as 26 twin turbolaser cannons, 20 light turbolaser turrets (for anti-fighter purposes) , 38 point defense cannons, 8 flack guns, and one hyperwave jammer. The ship is also protected by heavy shields and armor plating, though not as powerful as some other craft as it is a refitted they do carry an extensive set of high performance sensors which often give them an edge.

Senator Mina Bonteri of Onderon (Human)

Senator Mina Bonteri is one of the most vocal opponents of corruption in the Galactic and ranking member on the Senate Committee Against Corruption Senator Mina spends most of her time with the senate leading the investigative arm (Senate Office of Ethical Finance) against other senators, individuals, and entities seeking to cut from the republic the corruption that infests it. The committee has the power to issue subpoenas for documentation and to call individual into the senate for questioning. When violations of financial law or corruption is discovered the Office of Ethical Finance has the ability to temporarily freeze assets belonging to the offending parties pending trial.

The Onderonian military is quite small and its navy quite small and outdated as well, while in the past the people of Onderon have been quite martial in nature the last major war the plant was involved with was The new sith war which ended almost 1,000 years ago. Because of that there has been little reason to expand or modernize the military. The people of Onderon have different reasons for wanting to affect change in the republic than others, Onderonians see the republic as a loss for the individual onderonian. Onderon is a net contributor to the republic and see its growing corruption and stagnation from their world and worry it will be affected and become corrupt as well. Growing piracy issues have been ignored by the majority of the Senate and the rest who pay attention seem to have no ability to get the gridlocked senate moving on important issues.

Foray-class blockade runners

The foray class is a small capital ship from the old republic era used during the time of Onderon’s last major conflict, the sith wars of 100 BBY, its last refit was done 100 years ago. The Foray-class is neither quick nor heavily armed but it provides a good system patrol craft and has been quite useful at combatting the occasional pirate. It has dual forward turbolaser cannons and 2 anti-Starfighter medium turbolasers. It has a crew of 100 with the capacity for 500 passengers.

Aurek-class tactical strikefighter

The Aurek-class is also a very old ship from the time of the Foray. Last having seen total war over 1,000 years ago and last refitted over 100 years ago there has been little reason for Onderon to build up its naval capacity. The Aurek-class is a fighter with two heavy laser cannons and two proton torpedo launchers. The armament is of an older design however and so will not be able to penetrate modern day shielding.

Onderonian Army Regular

The Onderonian army has been provided with a contract for the DC-15s blaster rifle, which has become the main rifle of the Onderon, by Blast Tech Industries. Blast Tech is owned by the Techno Union. Light armor is also provided by Baktoid Industries, also owned by the Techno Union. The troopers are better than your average droid but are more expensive to equip than the standard B1 and you are limited by available manpower, moral, food supply capacity, and other things that come with caring for organic life forms.

Onderon Royal Militia

The militia or royal guard is tasked with protecting the king of Onderon and important dignitaries such as the planetary senator. Armed similarly to the regulars they royal guard has slightly heavier armor and in addition to the DC-15 they have electro staffs and extensive hand to hand combat training.

Senator Poggle the Lesser (Archduke of Geonosis)
Poggle the lesser is head of the Outer Rim league, a group of outer rim worlds who have banded together to push their own legislative agenda and to assure the proper focus is brought to the issues that plague outer rim worlds. The league is mainly made up of alien planets many of whom see the republic as far to focused on human issues, the league has been successful in gathering the support of many outer rim worlds and has as members 10% of the body of the senate. These worlds are held together by a mutual distaste for core world politics and the elitism of the core world senators as well as their own desire to push outer rim issues in the senate. Geonosis is also home to many factories and production facilities owned by the various galactic corporations.

The economy of Geonosis has grown quite rapidly due to the movement of several production facilities to Geonosis due to the low 5% corporate income tax and ready educated labor force. There are many Geonosians who work in the factories and also many more who work in mines and extraction facilities on the mineral rich asteroids in system to help provide raw materials to factories on the surface and in orbit. Large factories of Baktoid Armor Workshop, and many others, are located here. Geonosians are ruled by the queen but you are her voice in matters of military and state and have been chosen by her above all others to lead the people (as she is busy laying millions of eggs).

Nantex-class territorial defense Starfighter

Manufactured by the Huppla Pasa Tisc Shipwrights Collective on Geonosis, the Nantex-class starfighter is a territorial defense craft that can fight in atmosphere and in space. It is heavily armored with a reinforced laminasteel hull and it is lightly armed with a single laser cannon turret and a single warhead launcher. The craft was created for the exclusive use of the Geonosians for the defense of Geonosian space. The Nantex-class fighter possessed a complex set of multi-axis control yokes that required a Geonosian's considerable manual dexterity in order to properly handle because of this the Nantex is one of the most agile organically maned ships in the Republic able to safely navigate the asteroid fields in the system.

Geonosian Heavy Sonic Cannon & personal sonic cannon:

Are artillery piece used only by the local Geonosians, as effective as any heavy blaster cannon the sonic cannon can only be used in atmosphere but is highly effective. In enclosed spaces, like the Geonosian tunnels, the cannons effect is magnified often times collapsing passages if enough shots are fired.

Geonosian Hive Army

The hive army is part of the military forces of Geonosis and consists of the insectoid warrior caste of Geonosian society. The planet has no formal standing military but all males of certain age may be called on to fight, but the soldiers follow only commands of the queen or her most trusted servants. The army lacks any concepts of squads, ranks, or order of battle. Each trooper has only their sonic rifle and little else.

Senator Tikkes of Dac (Mon Calamari)

Quarren share their planet with the also aquatic Mon Calamari, when the Quarren miners recently aligned themselves with the Commerce Guild they gained considerable political support and power. The Commerce Guild was able to secure a Quarren majority on the Mon Calamari Council, and install Senator Tikkes as the representative of Dac (also called Mon Calamari). Dac is racially divided between the Quarren who represent the underclass that inhabits the sea floor and which has recently taken power and which is anti republic, and the Mon Calamari who live close to the surface and have been the traditional elite of the planet and who are pro republic. As the only founding member of the Galactic Republic on the council Dac envisaged a republic that favored free trade and deregulated markets and fear the growth of government power in recent decades. They also resent the power that the Mon Cal had over the planet for so long, until now the Quarren people have never had representation in the republic despite being members for thousands of years.

In return for the designs many underwater factories were opened by the corporate alliance on Dac near Quarren cities. These factories have provided a much needed boost to the undersea economy and has allowed for the subjugated Quarren to gain respectable employment working in said factories. The underwater mines have also been expanded greatly leading to the creation of several Quarren Mining Barons. The Quarrens also own extensive shipyards around Dac and their colony worlds often utilized by corporate entities or the Dac Navy.

The Aqua B2 is a design given by the techno union on request from the Corporate alliance, it has allowed assurances of political stability on Dac.

Trident-class assault ship purchased from Colicoid Creation Nest

The Trident class assault ship is a ship locally created on Dac and made for the undersea Quarren. It’s a multi medium space craft that can act underwater, move into atmosphere, and also fly into space. It does not have a hyperspace drive and so cannot move between planets without a carrier but it can move through the system. It can carry up to 20 individuals or battle droids and deliver them into enemy ships or structures using a beak like drill and mechanical arms. It can also effectively engage enemy soldiers and light vehicles with the 8 turbolaser cannons placed on its arms.

Quarren army:

Under the sea there are many large Quarren cities all of which are protected by the Quarren army. These troopers are most effective in underwater combat and are armed with a Quarren spear rifle which is a locally produced blaster rifle with a large bayonet like attachment. The commanders carried tridents into battle.

Providence-class destroyer

Providence-class ship designs were created by the Free Dac Volunteer Engineering Corps. and were massive, cylindrical 1,088-meter-long warships with a pointed nose that tapered towards the superstructure, bays exist on the ship for the carrying of compliments of droid strike fighters and landing craft. These ships are based on Quarren designs from the planet Dac and are one of the largest combat ships produced by the council. These destroyers act as point ships for planetary blockades, bombardments, and invasions and can also be effective in capital ship to capital ship space combat.

Recusant-class light destroyer

Provided exclusively to the Commerce guild the Recusant-class light destroyer is unlike many of the naval products of the Corporations and guilds. The Recusant-class light destroyer is not an outfitted commerce ship but a spacecraft built first for war. little is required in the way of crew due to most of the ship being able to be run by droid brain technology. The destroyer like the frigates are armed with oversized guns, they carry a heavy turbolaser cannon on their prow, 4 heavy turbolaser cannons, 6 heavy turbolaser turrets, 5 turbolaser cannons, 30 dual laser cannons, 12 dual light laser cannons, and 60 point defense cannons as well as military grade shielding. It can only carry up to 40,000 droids but can carry up to 240 droid Starfighters and at least one C-9979 landing craft in its cargo bay.
